Volunteer Training
IVC has developed a Volunteer Online Training program that we ask all potential volunteers to participate in. There are three sections outlined below (Essentials, Transportation and Home Companionship). Please set aside 20 minutes to take the training. It will give you a good idea of the work that IVC volunteers are doing in the community.
Essentials
The Essentials Training section must be completed by all volunteers. Here you will find basic information and policies and procedures as outlined by IVC.
Transportation
The Transportation Training section must be completed by all volunteers who will be driving care receivers. In this section, you will find information and policies and procedures related to transporting IVC care receivers.
Home Companionship
The Home Companionship Training section will explain the many ways that IVC volunteers are helping care receivers in their homes. While IVC volunteers are currently not going into the home during COVID, many of these principles apply to our “Phone Buddy” program, and are just good general guidelines about listening and “being” with others.
